Armageddon - The Hamilton Anime Expo

A few days ago I went to Armageddon. And pretty much these last few days have been me sleeping as I recover from my exhausting trip.
Hamilton is a two hour drive from Auckland, which to you Americans and Australians might not seem like much - but to us New Zealanders' that is one long drive. ;.; I actually won Silver Pass tickets to the event, so me and my 'companion' mother (who is apparently now obsessed with Armageddon and all things in it) were treated like celebrities. Just sayin' harhar.
We got autographs and pictures from actors for free, like Jason Mamoa, Lance Hendrikson and Joe Flanigan. I visited the Animation Room and watched a few hours of Blood C, then some of the film of Loups=Garous. I brought things (like a Shakugan no Shana postcard set, a few really cheap figurines from Lucky Star, and Honey and Clover the complete collection.) Then I walked, I brought more things, I walked some more, we went outside, we ate some chocolate, we spoke to some cosplayers and my mum...photobombed their photoshoot (seriously. 0-0)
We stayed there for so long. I just wish there were actual anime voice actors there. But it was such a fun day, all in all.
Seriously though. The Silver Passes are neat. No lines. Free photos and autographs. Heaven. :) We're so glad to have won those.
I'll add pictures later. I've finally recovered from that wonderful day. Before we left since we knew we wouldn't be coming back the next day, we gave our free passes to a young boy who didn't have enough money to go in. So I hope he had a fun day too.

Okay okay. Photos soon. Chow!

Stuff

I'm off schedule at the moment but fear not! I'm still posting. @_@
I've got a few new reviews coming up; Haibane Renmei and Angel Beats, to name a few. And some other things. I hate only posting a few posts every month so I'm going to try and pick up activity. <.< HUZZAH. I'm also planning on watching the World God Only Knows and catch up on the series I've fallen behind this season. (I'm not the most organized of people, aren't I?) And blogger is having a terrible freak out on me right now, not loading pages and pictures. It's really quite frustrating.
Wait... do my eyes deceive me? 0-0 I have...a follower? -glomps-
GLOMP! To you, new follower! :D
But nonetheless I would be a terrible person to end this pointlessly silly post here. So here's some GIFs. You know. For the heck of it. I'm in a giddy mood tonight, which may be due to the fact I had a wonderful day and am now settling down with a new TV for my HD anime viewing, a new external hard drive with many series waiting to be viewed, and a cup of warm milo and chocolate in my hands. How delicious~

Clannad Visual Novel - Mei's Route

Playing the Clannad Visual Novel I had no intention of playing Mei's route. She just looked like Sunohara's twerpy little sister...maybe because she is his twerpy little sister, but either way I thought her route would be boring and/or uninteresting. Derp.
That said I actually ended up playing her route through a mistake. I accidentally clicked "take the call" when Sunohara's sister called up, automatically putting me on the Mei route and leaving me to scream out at the unfairness of it all. Keep in mind I didn't know the magical VN button known as 'CTRL' at the time and I didn't want to sit through another one thousand 'enter' button mashes, nor did I save before this point (note to self: save every thirty seconds)...so I ended up doing it anyway.
...I can't believe why I didn't want to play this route. It was actually surprisingly good. o-o

Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge Episode 1 Impressions

What the hell did I just watch?

Karneval Episode 1 Impressions

Karneval is an interesting show, to say the least. It boasts eye-candy visuals, some sweet action, and a mysterious albeit a bit 'confusing' universe with a lot of supernatural and fantasy elements. It's animated by Manglobe, most notable for doing shows like Ergo Proxy, the World God only Knows, and Michiko and Hatchin.
So is it worth a watch this season?

A Dry Summer

For us folks in New Zealand we have just come out of a sticky, hot week.
Thankfully it rained on Saturday and...apparently today too (I went to bed at four and woke up at three so I don't really know lol) but it stills feels very humid.
You'd probably scoff when you hear what out temperature has been at.
...
26 degrees.
...
Hell, we consider 20 degrees hot so maybe we're just not used to heat.
Either way.
I'm off to go and do this with my cats.

/well...at least this post has (some?) relevance

Blossom - Zapuni Music Video

This will be a short post, and I apologize for that - however I must share this with you all.
Currently Zapuni has united with Japanese Visual Arts with world-renowned musicians to create works that will bring good things to children affected by the 2011 Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami disaster. I discovered this music video by Crunchyroll's youtube channel. It is very beautiful, and worth a watch.
"Angels watch over an old farmer as he works to bring a tsunami-ravaged land back to life. Directed by Yutaka Yamamoto Music by Sigur Rós / Hoppípolla."
Zapuni is raising funds for children affected by the Japanese earthquake and tsunami disaster.
Visit their site for more info: http://zapuni.com/

This video makes my heart ache and soar at the same time. <3

Gosick Review

Gosick can be a hard anime to talk about.
That's mainly because the show markets and appears from the outside as a mystery series. This isn't really true it all; it's more of a historical drama/adventure, and those venturing in to Gosick for sweeping murder mysteries and puzzling suspense will be disappointed with what they are presented with. That said Gosick is still a surprisingly good series - so long as you know what you're getting into, and you can get past that fact.

Gosick

 Genres//Drama, Romance
Age Rating: 16 & Up for frequent violence and mature themes including what may be some relatively disturbing images to some concerning Victorique's past.
